Graphic Designer
Brave Duck Productions is a design and marketing agency devoted to promoting meaningful brands. We work with entrepreneurs and businesses with unique and high quality products to define, develop and refine their brands, create sales channels and implement marketing plans that work.
The designer will work on catalog and print layouts, weekly emails and web design projects, graphic updates and marketing campaigns as well as photography post-production projects and photo shoots, including studio and on-location photography. The designer will also be part of the strategy team and will have the opportunity to not only support, but also to take lead on many projects.
Qualifications
- Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent preferred, but not necessary if experience and portfolio warrant.
- Strong preference for candidates who design well in print, on the web, and have strong photography skills. Will consider candidates who are great in two of the three areas.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong conceptual thinking and brainstorming skills.
- Passion for technology and the latest trends in tech and design.
- Knowledge of content management systems, open-source platforms, limitations of the web and web best practices.
- Ability to work in a group as well as individually.
- Good sense of layout, balance and how to graphically display information.
- Sound understanding of typography.
- Ability to take a project from concept through to completion.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and be well organized.
- Proficiency with Mac and OSX.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver (or equivalent code editor).
- Proficiency in XHTML and CSS.
- Knowledge and understanding of jQuery/javascript, and ability to code, a plus.
- Ability to write creative copy a plus.
- Ability to do simple or advanced illustrations and hand-drawn typography a plus.

Our Location
We live and work in Washburn, Wisconsin—a young and vibrant small town on the Bayfield Peninsula and Lake Superior.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to live in a smaller community but work with clients from all over the United States and world. We believe in building a team that will be centralized in the same location, and for this reason the position will be held in Washburn, Wisconsin.
Washburn has an incredibly high quality of life and is an amazing place to make your home. We would urge anyone interested in the position to come visit the area.
